摘要

In this study an attempt was made to introduce aipan designs of Uttarakhand in fashion world in the form of ready to use borders through screen printing with combination of other surface enrichment techniques. The consumers were ready to purchase the borders if available in the market and effort was appreciated by them. At present only woven and embroidered borders are available in the market. Borders prepared with combination of screen printing and embroidery technique are unique in terms of aesthetic appeal and would add variety to the existing designs of borders. Moreover the adapted motifs and border designs would act as a source for designing different patterns for different articles.
