摘要

The basic properties of commonly used cotton fibres are analysed based on the test results of around 1500 samples every year for the last four years. Similarly this year the analysis has been made and they were compared with the properties of earlier years. It was found that for Extra Long Staple varieties such as Suvin and DCH 32 there is gradual reduction in 2.5% span length. MECH. 1 and LK showed marginal improvement during this period whereas S4, S6 and MCU5 varieties did not show noticeable difference in 2.5% span length.
