President elect Tony Simpson opened the meeting and welcomed all attendees to what he described as a very important meeting between Council and the Regions. The meeting is an opportunity for Council and the Regions to work as one and have some productive discussions. The meeting was well attended, with representatives from Birmingham, London, Bristol, Yorkshire, Scotland and Ireland. Apologies were read out from those who were unable to attend, especially from the North West region who could not make the meeting but wanted to assure everyone they were there in spirit if not in person.
