Last year, for the first time in decades, it was decided not to hold our established annual dinner and instead, a lunch was organised as a pilot project. This proved successful and the pattern was adopted again this year with the bonus of also having an official meeting and speaker. The region met at the historic Hawes Inn, South Queensferry on the 22 May 2019. After an excellent lunch had been served, our secretary,Jim McAlpine, handled the usual formalities. He then called on our chairman Hugh Doherty to address the members and outline his experience regarding vehicle inspection work on behalf of Trading Standards and Consumer Protection.
