Insurance will be about prevention rather than compensation in the not too distant future, with reams of data coming in from all aspects of Life enabling policyholders to reduce individual risk by nearly a half. Less risk means lower premiums, so in a world connected by the Internet of Things, providing basic policies will not be enough to sustain insurers for very much Longer. Instead, they will need to reposition themselves as solution providers, as partners willing to work with the customer to improve their quality of life with value-added services.
