摘要

The UK insurance industry has for several years recognised the efforts of car manufacturers who strive to develop systems and technologies for vehicles to make them safer, more efficient and now through advanced driver assistance systems more user friendly, offering higher levels of safety for occupants in the event of a collision. With this in mind I turn my thoughts to the need to maintain personal technical training and development to ensure we fully understand the capability, functionality and repairability of the modern motor car. Training is often the first thing to be removed from the operating budget when businesses face expense challenges but, with the ever increasing change in motor vehicle construction and design with many new materials finding their way from the aero industry to the motor vehicle sector, I see this as a very short sighted approach. Food for thought!
