I recently spent a blissful 10 days in Antigua (I know, I know), and while I was there something occurred to me: while some things are very different around the world; others are alarmingly familiar. Just before my holiday, I had the privilege of learning all about the comprehensive safety features on Volvo cars and aspects of their repair at the VM's Training & Development Centre in Daventry (see pl4-15 of this issue). Imagine my reaction the following week, therefore, when for the transfer from the airport to the hotel I was perched on the middle front seat (little more than an arm rest) of a jam-packed Toyota HiAce or something similar, with no seatbelt.
