Irish Region member Darren Power turns (temporarily) pyromaniac on a very hands-on fire investigation course. The Park Lodge International Vehicle Fire Investigation course, held inTipperary, was mostly attended by motor assessors from around the country, with the exception of two firemen who travelled from Scotland. The course consisted of two intensive days' training, the first of which started with classroom based theory on fire investigation. Richard Baker and Chris Lowe, from Park Lodge International, were very comprehesive in the delivery of the information, covering the various fuels found inside vehicles, the boiling and flashpoints of these fuels and their potential ignition sources, and gave examples of accidental and likely collison-based causes.
