President Neil Roarty welcomed everyone to the meeting, which had representatives from around the Regions - including members from as far afield as Ireland and Scotland. After apologies for absences, he asked that the Notice of Meeting be taken as read. A minute's silence was held in memory of past-President Peter Adams, who was also Chairman of the Bristol Region for many years, after which the business of the meeting got underway. Neil reiterated that Council had restructured the way the various groups within the IAEA work, and pointed out as a result they had been able to do make quicker progress and he thanked the group leaders and Council members for their efforts.
