It seems fitting that Soichiro Honda, founder of the iconic car brand, began his working life as an apprentice in a shop manufacturing and repairing 'automobiles, motorcycles and gasoline engines'. His father before him ran a business selling, repairing and re-selling mended bicycles - you could almost say he saved them from being written off. So Soichiro and his father almost certainly would've approved of Honda's scheme to reduce write-offs in borderline cases. Originally launched within Honda's own network of 140 repairers and operating through its dealerships nationwide, it has recently been widened to encompass every bodyshop in the country.
