The evening started with some statistics: in 2010, in London alone, 34,000 vehicles were reported stolen. This is expected to increase, with the numbers predicted to top 100 reported vehicle thefts per day during 2011. Nationally, there are expected to be around 100,000 vehicles reported stolen. While cars remain the number one target, there have been significant increases in plant being stolen, predominantly from construction sites.
