As members of the canmaking industry, we've all no doubt read plenty about the sustainability credentials of metal packaging. We are all aware that cans are endlessly recycled, that they protect food and drinks cost-effectively, that the inherent value of metal encourages recapture from the waste stream, and so forth. In The Canmaker we try to avoid mentioning these qualities in passing too regularly, purely because we're aware that you are most likely already aware of them. Within our industry, the sustainability credentials of metal packaging are no secret.
