The city of Milwaukee in Wisconsin lays claim to being home to some of the most famous names in US brewing: Frederick Pabst, Frederick Miller and Joseph Schlitz all set up breweries in the area which became three of the largest in the world. Even today, few places in the US produce as much beer as is brewed here. However, the beer culture in Milwaukee has changed markedly over the past 30 years, with the city on the shore of Lake Michigan also heralded as the cradle of the craft beer movement.
