With the widespread use of smartphones, Sun Chemical has developed an authentication called AuthentiGuard with Document Security Systems (DSS), which works by incorporating a copy-resistant mark or code into the decoration of the can that can be read by a smartphone app. By creating a direct link between the product and the consumer, smartphones become a powerful authentication tool enabling the instant verification of product authenticity at point of purchase, giving consumers confidence and reaffirming trust in the brand," says Iñaki Llona, global champion for metal deco inks at Sun Chemical.
