Japanese drinks firm Sapporo has bought the craft brewer of Anchor Steam Beer in San Francisco with plans to continue its local traditions and legacy while growing the brand globally. Anchor Brewing Co has been producing its Steam Beer since 1896 and with 160 employees produces 1.75 million cases of beer a year worth US$33 million.
