Glud & Marstrand is launching an improved design of quarter club easy-open end at the Seafood Expo in Brussels this month. The new end has curling on the full periphery, including corners and the short sides. This means the end needs no pre-curling prior to seaming, which ensures better seaming properties, leading to a more reliable seaming process. Furthermore, the type of sealing compound used, and the method of applying it, has been improved. The compound can now be applied with greater precision by volume and placement, which leads to a more reliable seaming process, also avoiding the application of any excess compound.
