A range of inks designed to run on any offset wet-on-dry UV printing line has been developed by PPG Packaging Coatings. Suitable for general line cans, food cans and closures, the Pixoset series is said to provide optimised transfer, reduced online ink consumption, excellent colour strength and dot gain, and compatibility with a wide range of base coats and overprint varnishes. The inks are also designed to require minimal line adjustments, cutting downtime. The bisphenol-A non-intentional (BPA-NI) inks are said to have good set-off properties, and processing and pasteurisation resistance. PPG says that it also offers colour matching with short lead times.
