Apple, Facebook and Google have been praised for their efforts on renewable energy, while Amazon's approach has been lambasted for a lack of transparency. In a May report, Greenpeace commends eight firms for committing to 100% renewable energy but says an uncooperative fossil fuel sector and growing energy demand are threatening to hinder progress. It is a similar message to Greenpeace's previous technology report, which shows there has been little movement in the sector. The report analyses the transparency, efficiency and renewable energy commitments of 17 major IT companies.
