In what company officials said will be the largest such plant in the United States and one of the world's largest, an affiliate of oil major Chevron announced Tuesday it is teaming with German solar manufacturer Concentrix Solar to build a 1 megawatt concentrating photovoltaic plant in New Mexico.rnChevron Technology Ventures and Chevron Mining Inc. will build the photovoltaic solar facility on the tailing site of a molybdenum mine in Questa, N.M. Electricity from the project will be sold to Kit Carson Electric Cooperative. Construction is slated to begin in the spring and conclude by the end of the year.
