In Japan, a total of approximately 300 million pallets are being used and approximately 50 million pallets are produced annually. The ratio of resin pallets to the total, both in use and pro- duction, has been increasing every year. One major factor fueling this trend is the fact that the spirit of ISO 14000 and HACCP are beginning to be accepted widely in the Japanese economic and social domains.
