Since we decided to run a story on the current difficulties for new pilots coming into the industry, we have been inundated with letters and e-mails from you.This issue's cover story should bean interesting eye-opener for many of us. Co-incident with running the article, and subsequent to much lobbying by BALPA (alongside many other aviation organisations), the Government has just announced that it is to expand the current City and Guilds Higher Apprentice Pathway to include commercial and airline pilot training.This is a much-welcomed move, and although it doesn't go as far as we would like, it is a step in the right direction.
