IFALPA's position has always been that the person responsible for the operation of a remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) in unsegregated airspace (UAS) should have the training, qualifications and monitoring as a pilot of a manned aircraft of comparable size. In its circular 328, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has also indicated that it shares this view.
