The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) in the US has published a new technical report that provides guidelines on technologies, practices and fuels that reduce sulphur oxide (SOx) emissions. Limitations on SOx emissions are currently in place with more stringent regulations coming in the near future, making it harder for the industry to comply. The new report, Marine Vessel Environmental Performance (MVEP) Assessment Guide Air Emissions: Sulphur Oxides (SOx), has been designed to help with SOx management and reduction on ocean-going vessels.
