Disney Cruise Line took possession of its newest ship, Disney Dream, from the Meyer Werft shipyard in a traditional maritime ceremony aboard the ship in Bremerhaven, Germany. The Disney Dream is the first of two ships the Papenburg shipyard is building for Disney Cruise Line of the USA. She is 340m long, 37m wide, can accommodate up to 4,000 passengers and her propulsion plant will enable the vessel to operate at speeds of up to 23.5 knots. Weighing in at 128,000gt, she is said to be the biggest cruise ship ever built in Germany and one of the three longest cruise ships in the world.
