Dutch company Alewijnse Marine Systems has announced that it will design and install a new electric propulsion drive using a DC bus system for the main electric installation in three vessels to be built at Shipkits.The design of the drive is said to be highly innovative, but because it uses proven technology and components reliability and performance should be easily predictable.Designed by Vuyk Engineering of Groningen, the three ships will be 107m length in length, have a beam of 16m, and are designed for duties including wind farm installation and support. The bow section contains the accommodation with work decks aft.
