Following earlier speculation about a takeover bid for MTU, Rolls-Royce and Daimler have issued a joint statement concerning their proposed offer to acquire Tognum, the parent company of MTU.Daimler AG and Rolls-Royce Group pic announced on 9 March that they intend to launch a public tender offer for 100% of the share capital of Tognum AG. The public tender offer is intended to be carried out by a 50:50 joint venture company.
