Polar expedition vessel Plancius owned by Oceanwide Expeditions in the Netherlands was recently converted and refurbished.rnThe work was carried out by Oceanwide Marine Services at Scheepswerf Reimerswaal in Hansweert, Holland. Plancius was built in 1975 as an oceanographic research vessel forrnthe Royal Dutch Navy and was named Tydeman. She was paid off in June 2004 and purchased by Oceanwide Expeditions in 2006.
