The last two in a three-ship order for double-ended ferries for Canadian ferry operator British Columbia Ferry Services (BC Ferries) were delivered during 2008 from Flensburger shipyard in Germany. Named Coastal Inspiration and Coastal Celebration, they joined the lead-ship Coastal Renaissance which was delivered in October 2007. At 21,980 gt, the "Coastal-class" class trio, based on the Flensburger's Super C-dassrndesign, are the largest double-ended ferries afloat and operate on various routes on the coast of British Columbia. With an overall length of 160m, an overall breadth of 28.20m and a design draught of 5.75m, the ferries have a passenger capacity of 1,650 and a 2,020 lane metre cargo capacity providing stowage space for 370 cars. Alternatively, the vessels can handle 185 cars on the upper car deck which has a free height of 2.90m and 32 trailers on the main vehicle deck which hasrna free height of 4.75m.
