From the end of May to the middle of June, 2009 is a busy time for the maritime industry. The biggest event will no doubt be Nor-Shipping, but this year it finds itself neatly forming the middle of a sandwich, between two equally-important Mercator events.rnFor 26 and 27 of May we will be in Copenhagen, for the 31st annual Motorship conference. Any doubts that the event could return to its peak of popularity are being well ad truly dispelled this year. As mentioned in our last issue, the speaker list was soon oversubscribed, and, remarkably, the delegate places filled just as quickly. Normally places are taken up gradually, with a rush in the two weeks or so leading up to the event. This time, however, several weeks before the conference, our organising team were having to ask the venue to provide more space as our target for paying delegates had been reached. We must not forget the impressive list of sponsors, whose contributions make the event possible.
