American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) has recently type approved GE Marine's L250 engine family.rnThe US-based diesel engine manufacturer, a unit of GE Transportation, introduced the medium speed L250 engine in September 2008. It was engineered to meet the US EPA Tier II requirements. It claims to offer average fuel savings of 9% at those emissions levels when compared with GE's previous generation of marine engines.
