Fincantieri's shipyard in Monfalcone recently launched the largest cruise ship ever built for P&O Cruises. Named Ventura, the newbuilding is scheduled for delivery in spring 2008 and is set to become the flagship of P&O Cruises, a brand in the Carnival Group.rnThe 114,000 gt, 290 metre-long Ventura shares the record with three other ships built for Princess Cruises between 2004 and 2007 as the largest cruise ships built to date by Fincantieri. The vessel will have a passenger capacity of 3,592 accommodated in 2,180 cabins.
