As waterjet propulsion has found increasing favour over the years, so Hamilton Jet in New Zealand developed ever bigger units. Its current top of the range HM811 model has an impeller diameter of 800mm and maximum sprint power of 3,500 kW. So now it is commonplace to find fast ferries up to around 50m long propelled by Hamilton Jets such as the 43m CNM Evolution ferry in Quebec fitted with twin Hamilton HM811 waterjets. Then there is the 44m oil rig crew boat Lisa Ann fitted with quadruple HM571 waterjets.
