The two engines are designed for two different markets. The RT-flex82C and RTA82C are intended as prime movers for Panamax containerships with capacities up to 4,500TEU at a typical service speed of around 24 knots. With cylinder dimensions of 820 mm bore and 2,646 mm stroke, the RT-flex82C and RTA82C will be available with six to 12 cylinders to cover a power range of 21,720 kW to 54,240 kW at 87 to 102 rpm.
