Business has been quiet over the last couple of years at Incat, the Tasmanian aluminium high-speed ferry specialist, but all this could change with the INCAT 112. Pushing the boundaries of the catamaran design has always been the ceaseless objective of the company which has an impressive list of vehicle-passenger vessels completed since 1990. The 112 metre newbuilding has not only extended the boundaries of vessel size for Incat, but also necessitated the construction of a deeper, wider and longer covered drydock alongside the earlier Coverdale building hall. Named Wilson, this new hall is designed to accommodate catamarans of over 120 metres and expanded Incat's undercover facilities to over 50,000 m~2.
