In his former capacity as an elite soldier with Australia's Special Air Services and para rescue worker with Australia's (now defunct) National Safety Council, Rick Parish has undertaken hundreds of dangerous missions to some of the world's hot spots. However, for the last three years, this quietly-spoken 41-year-old has been on a different tour of duty - that of an impassioned quest to raise the survival skills of people working in the oil, gas and shipping industries around the globe.
