At times, two things bring a high-speed chase to a stop: injury or death.rnAccording to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration statistics, about 30,000 police chases occur yearly, and approximately 300 deaths occur as a result of those chases. But now there is an opportunity for those numbers to change. With their new technology, known as Stolen Vehicle Slowdown, OnStar can work with police to remotely slow down stolen vehicles, helping to prevent or curtail high speed crashes and, thereby, reduce the risk of injury and death.
