Automatic warning systems are used by DB AC to warn staff working at track construction sites. The article describes the possibilities offered by AWS and illustrates ways in which AWS-based construction site warning can be made into a proper AWS protection system. Against the background of emerging European AWS standardisation, the article looks at the potential offered by current and future AWS systems.%Zur Warnung der Beschäftigten werden auf Gleisbaustellen im Bereich der DB AG automatische Warnsysteme (AWS) eingesetzt. Der Beitrag stellt die Möglichkeiten von AWS dar und zeigt Wege auf, wie aus einer AWS-Warnung von Gleisbaustellen eine echte AWS-Sicherung gemacht werden kann. Im Rahmen der beginnenden europäischen Normung von AWS werden die Möglichkeiten heutiger und zukünftiger AWS aufgezeigt.
