Manchester's Trafford Centre could be joined to the city's Metrolink network by 2019. Transport for Greater Manchester is proposing a three-mile extension to the centre from Pomona, with platforms serving Old Trafford football ground and the northern branch of the Imperial War Museum. The new line would run along a section of the Manchester Ship Canal.
