UK Railtours is offering two sensibly timed High-Speed Train charters in the next few weeks. The first is called 'Mallard 75 -Nearly the Endl'and runs on February 7 from St Pancras to Barrow Hill for a preview day of the repatriated LNER A4s -Nos. 60008 Dominion of Canada and 60010 Dwight D. Eisenhower. The preview is taking place in an original roundhouse, rather than in the National Railway Museum's Great Hall at York (which used to be a roundhouse before its 1990s rebuild). UK Railtours'VIP preview day will enable its charter passengers to see the engines without the huge crowds that have flocked to the NRM, as it will be a private event and not open to the public. The various ongoing projects at Barrow Hill - including work on the'Brighton Belle'and'Baby Deltic'- will be open for passengers to visit, with those involved on-hand to answer any questions about restoration progress. The train departs St Pancras at 09.40 and arrives back at 17.50, calling at Luton Airnort Parkwav and Bedford.
