The West Somerset Steam Railway Trust is marking the contribution made by railway ambulance trains during the First World War (RM July, p34-36)by preparing boards for display at a number of WSR stations. Toplight coach No. 3639, in the care of the trust and stored at Williton, saw service in one of the GWR continental ambulance trains. The headstocks and underframe will shortly receive remedial work to enable the vehicle to be moved, prior to the start of restoration.
