The South Devon Railway hopes that the overhaul of Pannier No. 6412 will be completed in time for it to appear in the line's May 2014 gala. While a gala debut may be tight to achieve, steaming of the loco in June should be achievable, barring anything unexpected arising. No. 6412 was bought from the WSRA in late 2008 in largely 'kit of parts'condition, South Devon Christmas trains will be handled by GWR 2251 0-6-0 No. 3205 and Pannier No. L92 (GWR No. 5786). The SDR's GWR outside- cylinder Pannier No. 1369 remains at the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway until the New Year (subject to short notice recall), while GWR 2-8-0 No. 3803 stays on hire to the Battlefield Line into the 2014 season, with an option to extend the agreement.
