How does your Domino development skill-set translate to an IBM Workplace environment? This article introduces you to IBM Workplace Designer, the new development environment for J2EE applications. Discover how features for creating Workplace components (including forms, views, scripts, dynamic interfaces, and so on) are similar to Domino Designer features. Learn about some of Workplace Designer's timesaving capabilities, including a way to work with schemas without knowing XSD and how you can easily integrate components with IBM Workplace Collaboration Services. To demonstrate some of the major capabilities of this new development environment, the article steps you through building a sample component.
