Comparative tests for the corrosion of grade 05Kh14S2B and 05Kh14S2 quality stainless steels and St.3 sp quality carbon steel were carried out under the conditions of a heat-supply system. It was revealed that stainless steels possess a considerably greater corrosion strength in the network water system as compared to carbon steel. It was demonstrated that manufacturing pipelines for heat-supply systems of carbon steel with a thin layer cladding of 05Kh14S2B and 05Kh14S2 quality steels will considerably increase the longevity of the pipelines.
