There are thousands of striped fabrics on the market, and there are multiple ways to use any of them as trim. Trim a striped garment with matching striped fabric, as shown in the vintage jacket at left, or combine stripes with a solid color or a print. Most often, the stripes outline the garment's edges and punctuate the style lines. This type of trim is easy to accomplish, though the mitered corners look tricky. I'll show you a shortcut for making a perfectly matched mitered trim.
