I want to thank you for the wonderful article, "Behind the Scenes at the Metropolitan Opera" in the October/November 2011 issue (no. 157). I found this to be the most interesting article I've read in a number of years of reading Threads. My daughter and I share a subscription. I am a traditional quilter, and the majority of sewing involves making quilts. Occa- sionally I will make a skirt, but I am not a serious seamstress. Understanding what is involved in producing the magnificent costumes for the Met gave me a broader appreciation of all costume making for the stage. Thanks for giving us this insight.
