This blue-collar section of town is made up of several neighborhoods—each with a distinctive flavor, including Little India, which runs along Main and Fraser streets between 44th and 50th avenues.There are many fabric stores in Little India; my favorite is Rokko's. The same family owns two stores a few blocks apart: Rokko's and Guru Bazaar. My first experience with Rokko's was years ago when, as a fashion-design student, I bought a length of shot silk that shimmered like the sea at sunset. My imagination still soars when I visit the 6,500-square-foot store.
