In a month where we raise awareness of the key issues affecting fork truck safety through our annual Safety Week campaign and Safety Conference, it's important to remember that safety isn't just a one-off or even annual event. Fork truck safety is a journey and, it is one which has been a way of life for the Fork Lift Truck Association since its inception more than 40 years ago. Over the years we have seen the UK fork lift truck industry make significant strides in health and safety practice, but fork lift trucks continue to be involved in more than 800 workplace accidents every year. Often, these are serious and life-changing events requiring hospitalisation - including long-bone fractures, dislocations and amputations.
