Primarily, the Machinery Directive is a vehicle for promoting safety via adherence to certain standards, both key issues for BITA and its members.Over the years BITA has built a reputation with the appropriate authorities for pioneering new safety standards. As well as playing its role in defending the interests of the UKfork lift truck market in the corridors of power in London and Brussels, BITA has prioritised a goal of sharing guidance, throughout the sector, on how to remain compliant with the latest legislation.
