The total sales of cigarettes in most countries comprising the Sub-Sahara region of Africa have increased in recent years,notwithstanding certain fluctuations in South Africa. In fact,Sub-Sahara manufacturers are providing a rising share of the market,as imports from Europe have fallen below the level recorded during 2003-05,and imports from the United States have almost completely vanished. Still,the total volume of imports is climbing higher.
