In what could prove a major obsticle for the industry, public health officials from around the world agreed in a recent meeting held in Montevideo, Uruguay to recommend restricting or banning flavor in cigarettes. Delegates from 172 countries who are signature members of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) treaty also agreed to recommend that tobacco producers be required to disclose their ingredients to health authorities.
